- I'm not liking this... I am not liking this... - mumbles with a bit scared tone. He seems a bit stiff, as he closes his eyes and clenches his fingers. "I can't win with magic... I can't..." - he thinks as he is getting a bit more scared. - Okay... I... I... I'm ready.

Knobe wondered if the these men were his prey he was sent to hunt. He smiled slightly; feeling the power to take a life to end someones many adventures. It was always like this with his kills. To many people had died today.

Knobe backed out of the alley. Away from the line of sight of the men, but close enough to hear their converstaion. If they made any attempt to leave Knobe, had set in his mind that he would follow.

Gassy, resting up some, rubbing his arm, and thinking about the coins he had just gained -hiding in the shadows & smelling horse- decided to look for the same horse he had seen before (and failed to steal). 'Young human boy foiled my attempt!' Thought Gassy. 'I should kill that rotten, no good, human boy,' *Gassy shakes his good fist at a mud puddle.* Gassy looks about, hoping to see any sign of that same horse.

You step further back and with a sensation VERY similar to spiderwebbing being pulled from your skin, you are through the gate.

When you open your eyes you see an area between the gateposts that is cloudy. The misty appearance swirls and it is with effort that you pull your gaze away.

You turn from the gate and toward the manor house. It looks nothing like what you saw from the air.

An easily 2 storied stucture looms from the darkness. Twin wolf's heads sit atop massive columns. One on each side of the arch of the doorway. Their eyes glow a deep blood red, blackened tounges hang from the gaping jaws. The dim lighting from braziers mounted below the heads give them the appearance of life. They are silently laughing at you.

Soundlessly the doors split open in the middle and swing outward.

"Enter."

You step lightly backwards keeping low in the alley and near the wall of the building to you left side.

Unfortunately your heel scrapes along a loose planking that you missed on your way into the alley.

Both men stop talking and try to focus where they thought the sound came from.

With a blurring of motion one of the men seems to melt towards the ground. A large rat now blinks up at the sky.

The other man spins and starts to run from the other end of the alley way. The rat scurries under the building to your left.

(OOC: Are you sure you want to try and follow? /OOC)

You quitely slip back around to where you can see the front of the inn. You see the man you you think owns the horse facing an armored man. Their stances are coming out of what you would think of as a fighting pose. The boy is still holding the lead of the horse you tried to take earlier but the boy is looking around very carefully. It is doubtful that you would be able to sneak up on them a second time.

Gassy looks about for the nearest escape route from where he is, a path, or direction that would work well for making a fast two legged run to get out when the gett'n is needed. If Gassy can spy a possible route, he will then pick-up a nice big rock -baseball sized for Gassy- and begin to target the boy's head. Muttering and cursing in goblin.

(ooc: Thanks for the EXCELLENT RP! smile.gif No rush on reply, and feel free to use Gassy's actions to work into the RP when it works best for your timeline.)

Farho enters the building. He didn't want to... but a given word is a given word. He feels a little bit creepy, like when he had to hide away from the people. Anyway... he slowly walks towards the doors, looking around nervously. "Now I understand why did the innkeeper wanted me to go..."

Knobe dashes tirelessly after the man running down the alley. The shape-shifter had taken him by surprise, non the less he felt that he could reach this other man. He only needed one to find the other, maybe. He was beginning to feel uneasy about this small quiet village. Something dark and familiar seemed now to loom over it.

Knobe seemed unable to catch up with the man. Knobe drew his dagger from it's resting place and with a hard flick of the wrist launched it out at the escaping man.

(OOC: You can roll the dice, I would make it 3 sided die and it must hit 2 for a hit, then roll a 6 sided die to see the damage. Those are just speculations, I am unsure how dice really work, if you could let me know that would be nice thanks \OOC)

(OOC: Thanks biggrin.gif /OOC)

When you look around you see what can only be a corral connected to a building some distance from where you are hiding. A short dash should get you near the split fence. A soft nicker is coming from there as well.

There is no rock nearby...

When you enter the house a warm fire lights in the massive hearth. THis provides enough light to illuminate the room. A small table is set with a decanter and two large crystal like goblets. Two chairs are set across from one another facing the table. A man matching the image you saw outside is sitting in the lef hand one.

"Hello, Please join me for a drink then we can discuss the business that brought you here." He stands and motions to the chair across from him. The chair moves back from the table as if someone were helping to seat you.

"Or if you perfer I can get you a stool?" He points near the wall at several chairs ans stools.

"The drink is quite safe." He pours himself a glass and takes a small drink. I light cough escapes him. "If a bit stronger than I usually drink." a smile touches his face. "I can have one of my servants see to your wounds as well." A light breeze moves behind you and you feel a gentle kneading on the joints of your wings.

"It is a small air elemental. If it focuses hard enough it can do wonders."

(I am going to assume you are wanting to stop him for questioning and not kill him right away.)

Your knife flies true, the many years of practice show in your efforts, striking the man in the right knee, hamstringing him. A cry of pain escapes his lips as he crashes to the earth.

When you reach where he has fallen, you see he twisted his right arm in the fall as well.

He has not completely given up though and a dagger glints in his left hand.

"Who are you? Did Hankellin send you? It's too late the plan is in motion my master will see it come about."

He stabs himself in the thigh cutting the artery.

Through clenched teeth he mutters, "Even if you stop the bleeding the poison should kill me swiftly." He lays back as convulsions start to wrack his body.

Muh'Farho

Still being a bit suspicious. Now being aware of getting controlled. " I don't like the way he is... But I can't run. I'll better do what I was going to do, and head back to town fast."
- Good evening... - he comes to the table. - If I'm not mistaken, your name is Hankellin, right ? - sits on the chair, and moves it back to the table - Thank you for healing my wounds... My name is Muh'Farho. And unluckily I've got some bad news, that I'm going to say straight. Your daughter, Celieste, was murdered. - the dragonkin tries to show the compassion, but it is noticeable by his face that it's a fake.

He awaits the response, as just telling him that and going back to the inn didn't seem to be the best idea.

"My daughter? Murdered? How did this happen?" A very dangerous stillness creeps into the room the hearth fire seems to fade a bit. You find yourself focusing intently on this man's eyes.

You feel a great compulsion to tell him everything about the fight in the tavern, but with an effort you shake the feeling and lunge to your feet.

(I will let you continue from this point. If you want to tell him ok, or you can try and leave. Up to you.)

Muh'Farho

"Uh-oh...Better tell him before he'll damage me or whatnot."

- Well, you see... It was like this - closes his eyes, trying to remember all the things that did happen - In the inn, I've ordered from your daughter a meal. Suddenly, all the people in the inn jumped into the doors, and so did I. It seemed that a goblin did sneak into the town, doing some havoc. So, I came back to the inn, and noticed two men behind the counter, and one of them was dragging something. Somehow I didn't like what they were doing, thought that they were stealing something. A little talk came up, and those two wanted me to leave the inn, but I didn't. One of them tried to run away, but he tripped over the counter. The second one attacked me, so I've killed him. People then noticed what did happen, and the innkeeper jumped in. I've came to the counter to see what was behind in... and... - dragonkin opens his eyes, and looks straight in the eyes of Hankelling. - ...That was Celieste, dipped in her blood. - Farho takes a breath, and contiunes - So... The other man did manage to run away, and the inn keeper wanted me to tell you this. And that's why I'm here. - Now, he awaits the response, as he didn't want to make Hankellin mad by leaving.

@ Muh'Farho:

Hankellin takes a deep breath and the light retuns to the room and your tunnel vision clears.

"I'm sorry. I should not have done that. I have worked very hard to get where I am now and I tried to protect her all her life. I am a bit indulgent though when it comes to her. When she wanted to start working in the town I was against it. How would I protect her there?"

He seems to be rambling a bit then with a shake his words stop.

"I have a job for you if you would accept it. Please take this amulet and place it near Celieste's body. It does not have to touch her just be near her." He pulls a necklace from under his shirt and lifts it off over his head. Holding out to you in both hands.

"I have an assistant that can show you a fast way to the town if you like."

He turns his head a bit. "Tassletop, would you please join us?"

A glowing speck of light enters the room and hovers above the table. A few seconds later a form grows from the light. A young pixie is standing on the table. Her hair is a golden yellow cascade down her back and her eyes are deep forest green.

"Hello. How can I help?" her voice is remarkably clear for one so small. The decanter comes up to her chest.

"Tass, I need you to take Muh'Farho here back to town and see to Celieste. After that I free you from your contract."

He turns back to you. "Well, is it acceptable? I can give you a few coins too if you wish." Silently a small bag enters the room and lands on the table as well. A light clink is heard.

"Didn't turn out so bad. Heck, I'm alive!"

- ...I'll do it. - looks on the bag on the table - I'll be paid now or later ? - looks on the Hankellin, and then on the Tassletop. "What kind of contract would it be ?..."

(After getting the answer, dragonkin goes off to complete another job...)

"The money is yours now." Hankellin hands you the amulet. A dark ruby like stone is mounted among several dark green with red flakes stones. It is very warm to the touch, much warmer than mere body heat would account for.

As soon as you pick up the bag, Hankellin turns and leaves you and Tassletop alone in the room.

"What is wrong with Celieste? She and I are good friends. I can't wait to see her."

The pixie holds out a small hand. "You can call me Tass if you like. I am susposed to show you a fast way to the town huh? Well, follow me."

She turns back to a ball of light and moves to a doorway on the left wall. A long hall extends as far as your eyesight can see. Another door opens at the end.

When you reach the far door, Tass' voice comes from the light, "You will have to open it. I never had a key."

-Key ? What kind of key? - goes towards the doors - About Celieste... well, she's dead. I'm curious what will that amulet do...Well, okay Tass, let's see how does that work.
When at the doors, dragonkin tries to open them.

When you mention Celieste's death the light that is the pixie dims to a very low glow almost going out.

"We had so much fun together her and I. The pranks we played and the trouble those caused. Do you know how she died?" The light brightens but also takes on a redish tint.

"I know a few pranks that I would pull on her killers." A grim resolve hardens the small voice.

Pushing on the doors does nothing. You feel a warming sensation from the pouch you put the amulet in.

The doors start to glow and a light can now be seen under the doors handles appear where none where before.
