He feels that camaraderie, adventure, and steel-on-steel is the stuff of legend. Though he can barely read a street sign directing him to the nearest inn, he does know one when he sees one. Easily ascertaining battle situations comes not from his studying, but by learning techniques at the business end of mages' wands and barbarians' clubs. Rico's youth didn't always find him on the right side of the law... but never really on the left. Two weeks before Rico had long determined to make his way in the world (saving all the silver he could to go 50/50 into a harp-restringing business with his uncle), disaster hit as a war that robbed the countryside of twine for bows ruined all hope for his dreams. This 'War of the Arcos,' as it would later be called, proved not only to deter Rico from his entrepreneurship, but convinced him to take an active roll in it to hopefully, however unlikely, mitigate the effects upon the twine industry. He joined the local militia and was immediately assigned to Kitchen Patrol, serving hot, uncommonly delicious meals to the hungry warriors. This unfortunate twist of fate was a blessing in disguise as it got him "face-time" with the highest ranking field marshals (even they needed to eat). Rico's cheerful countenance and winning smile caught the attention of more than just the officers... the Cavalry Captain's wife dreamed of his sweet morsels constantly -- it was said Suave's buns could win wars. I don't know about wars, but they won hearts! Furious, the Captain ordered his lieutenant to reassign Rico as far away as possible. Off to the church he went, knowing that a life in celibate servitude would put an untimely end to his unsolicited attention. As it turned out and much to his surprise, the lieutenant's father was the high marshal over the southern forces, and his placement in the church was exactly what the marshal needed. His forces in the South were dwindling rapidly from gout and food poisoning and he needed not only a cook, but a cleric that could heal his men. Thus Rico received basic training in holy magics and every other thing he could pick up in his short time at the church. A few months later, the southern forces had completely recovered and were approaching the strongest warriors in the entire land. It has even been rumored that RicoSuave is still far to the south, further than man or goblin has traveled, in search of new varieties of spices and stronger twines. edit: (with spelling corrections)

Grish is a monstrous veteran warrior. He is ancient by orc standards, and he's seen more battles than most, elves and gods included. His great strength is only matched by his unbreakable endurance, and he can march and fight longer than anyone, even those half his age.
He was born into a war-ravaged land with a multitude of races and factions killing each other over gold, land, pride and all the usual reasons. He helped his orcish mother on her small farm from when he was only a little child. Before he was 12 he was taken away by a band of mercenaries and forced to act as meat shield in battles and slave labor outside of battles. He learned and survived, and over the years his respect among the other mercenaries grew. By the time he was 17 he was already considered one of the most reliable warriors, and was regularily entrusted with recon and special missions.
He learned early that in order to survive, he had to get along with other races. He inherited his human father's wisdom, patience and confidence, and has made good use of those attributes throughout his life. He is cautious and reserved, and humans are often impressed by his gentleness.
When on long campaigns he likes to drink the blood of his fallen enemies, claiming it's the source of his incredible strength. Whether it's to impress and intimidate or there is truth to his claims is hard to say, but it's certainly an effective way of spreading unease among the more civilized races, should he want to.
He generally prefers the wilderness and battlefields to cities and taverns, and often strikes out on his own for weeks at a time. Rumor has it he's stashed away a treasure somewhere in the mountains near his homeland, but no one has been able to confirm it..

Is early years he went of with his brothers and sisters on raiding human settlements. Later, whole his family got captured by a human mage. Most of his family mates died because of the mage's experiment, and Fatlush got himself a lot uglier. One day, when mage's tower was attacked by a pixie squadron, Fatlush jumped out from the window, landind in water pool near. His fat took him up to the surface, and he swam to the coast. Now, he's a mankiller.

Biography: Howlin was the sole survivor of a goblin raid on the homestead his parents had started at the edge of the forest. He was found by an elven ranger and taken to the ranger's hut where he learned the ways of the forest and respect for nature. He was also taught the bow and sword.
At 16 Howlin rescued a wolf pup from a goblin hunter. This pup has since shadowed Howlin wherever he would go.
At 18 Howlin decided to disobey his ranger foster parent and strike out on his own. His only companion is the giant wolf Shadow.
Edit: Changed wolves but Shadow will always have a spot.
