ZBrush - NEW!
Pixologic is the company that created ZBrush. ZBrush is a 3D modeling (more like sculpting) and texturing program. The PW Art Team uses ZBrush to create hi-polygon versions of models that are then used to create normal maps.

Blender - NEW!
Blender is a free, open sourced 3d modeling and animation tool. Blender is used by many of the PW art team.
It has MANY of the features of the expensive commercial Modeling programs.

Artificial Terrain Tools Site - NEW!
The primary emphasis of these packages is on artistic, synthetic terrain, although most of them have at least some limited ability to import real-world data layers.
