Blah blah. It was like 2 hours. I walk out the door to go take same to get some candy and the modem decides to start rebooting. I wish Cisco made a cable modem ...

doh! just had the support crew (wife and son) check the modem and router, and they are both working. It must be the server this time. Give me another hour and it will be back up. Patience is key tongue.gif.

tongue.gif. Good idea. My modem is freaking out recently. Tech support has been notified wink.gif.

I can put irc on our VPS, but we can't use the default port (GoDaddy blocks it completely). We'll just need to make it clear to users (and modify the builtin version on the website) that we are using a different port.

So uh, what happened now? I'm getting "Socket Error: 10061 : Connection is forcefully rejected (Server)" when I try to connect.

dangit, looks like the VPS is not an option after all. Lucky for us, my modem decided to stay stable all week...knock on wood. Looks like irc.projectwish.com on the default port is still where we need to be. I'll change the website back to point to it for now until we can find a better alternative.

Did yiu guys start blocking AOL IPs?

Cause I get a "Connection refused: connect" error when I try hooking up with the Java thingy and mIRC...

If your not, no worries, it must be AOL blocking it somewhere protecting me from all of you evil haxorz, child porn ring leaders (I hope google grabs that one), linux users, and movie pirates arrrrrrrrrrrr.

I fixed the webpage IRC thing last night (after you posted), but our host doesn't like us putting an IRC server on it. We will have to come up with something else. Maybe my modem will be stable again, but who knows.
