I would like to start by referancing Diablo II in that, you could make a 'hardcore character'. the main difference between this, and a regular would be that the first had only one life to live. Period.

I am not here to propose this...exactly.

Insted, I would like ( a world/server ) filled with these types of characters. One thought that death has a higher toll, espically as your character acculimates times of death. These "Costs of ressurection" would work in much the same way breaking a limb over and over in real life might work. At first, yes, it hurts like hell and you are slightly set back. ( And are slightly more at risk of breaking it again later, if not aligned properly
--Mini game?-- ) After so many breaks the bone becomes weak and aches when strenuisley used, and in some cases just by walking around.

I would think that the higher level a character has without dying, would give that character prestigue` over others, and mabye even a small skill, stat, and/or visual bonus. Mabye dying often would add wrinkles or scars to your character. Say at.. 5 deaths, your character can no longer be ressurected. But can walk around as a ghost in certain areas, or during certain times of the day. Mabye even have a spiritual effact on the world around them.

Just the thoughts for now. Mabye more later.

I'd also like to see the world of these character types, and only these character types. But I think it would be neat to have ( our of 100 lvls ) a lvl 70 character who has never died, and then transfer to a 'normal' world, but never to return.

Think about the uneasy, yet slightly superior feeling you'd have. People would fear and respect you, they would conspire against your life. Imagone people following you because of this extra feeling of acomplishment they feel you have. Imagone being the person ( or people ) who bring down one of these high level, never been killed mo-fos and have the honor be being known for it.

Another neat idea would be, keeping a body part of a hardcore character.
I.E.
-Scalp, ear, head, hand, foot
And being able to put items like this on display, for all to see.
There could also be a small note for the condition in which the item was captured, depending on how many times the person was killed. Of course an ear from someone who was killed more than once has more scars and what not than an ear of someone who has only died once.

It would be cool, after spending so much time on another server, be it a few weeks of activity on a server,
( Not just being a part of the server, but actuely logged on for a certain ammount of time, more on this later ) or a number of levels gained or an object aquired, or any combination of these.

This way, you could return a glorious hero to the server, esspicaly if you are still un-killed and are now a lvl 80, and have this shining example of things from " another lang "

Mabye there could be a heavy consequence for dying on another server, an instant transfer to the hardcore server?

Hard core servers are always places where play mainly pro players, so is not a place for all the idea is good but might be better think to a specific server hardcore kind.

Take in mid that is really frustrating remake a character after 70 levels, so I suggest to make a "soft" hardcore server, exp doubled or more to fast level and level downgrade at each death that is surely better than lost a char.

i.e.
EXPx10 = lvl40 in a week or less of play

but

1 death = from lvl40 to lvl10 immediately (under lvl30 u restart from lvl1)

Usually hard core server took 2 of these ways
[hardcore pve servers kind]
all take care to live than never level up) where people start to collaborate to live against mobs

[hardcore pvp/assasin house server]
All kill each other and only higher level live maintaining his position killing all low level to don't avoid any possibility to die

This is my point of view, obviously
