On the WoW forum for the guild affiliation I'm part of on Kirin Tor server someone posted a link to a story, and so far the discussion going on is mostly mature.

That's the fact that they're a pretty much a major time sink that leaves burned out and/or ex-players with a bitter taste in their mouth. I don't think I know anyone who's quit a MMORPG that's said "That was a great game. I wish I still the time/means/whatever to play it."
