So I haven't been able to get the link to live chat to work. I down loaded Mirc which wanted like $20. but now I have no idea how to connect to the PW IRC server though.

mirc is not user-friendly. I dont like it for that reason. Try IceChat or trillian, which should both be easier to learn.
PS, I just tested the java client and had no problems. -------------------- |

I'm not surprised. Windows did another self update thing on me. I keep turning that off and it keeps turning it self back on I guess. But pretty much ever time it updates I start having issues. I'm sure need to hunt up a driver somewhere now and update it too, then mess with like 20 other things to get it all working again.

like Jerky said Trillian is supposed to be good for IRC. I think Alter uses it and liked it. You could try updating Java runtime engine i think theres was new version of it not long ago. If you have the new one try reinstalling and if it still doesnt work, just use the previous one. |

I installed and configured mirc to connect automatically to our server and join #projectwish, then I zipped it and uploaded it to my webspace. So if you have problems figuring it out, you can grab this file: http://heim.ifi.uio.no/espeov/pw/mIRC.zip
1. Unzip it to a suitable location 2. Run mirc.exe from where you unzipped it, you may want to drag a shortcut onto your desktop. 3. Fill in the details in the connect window that comes up, name and email address aren't important but Nickname is important. 4. Click Connect. I hope this makes more people come talk to us on irc :) |
