I know, financing was discussed earlier, but looking at the site, some minor advertising would not hurt and help sponsor our vision.
Well, I don't know if this is necessary, but I could accept it. Just my 2ct anyway. |

If we can somehow make sure that we only get suitable ads. I.e no adult material, preferrably game related, etc, I think this could be a good idea.
I would suggest having a discussion (like this one:) first though, and perhaps have it as a topic for an open IRC meeting as well. If there aren't any strong objections from the community, I think ads might be a good way to pay for some of the costs. (web page, development server, etc) |

I think we should stay away from selling ourselves right now, the website costs a tiny amount considering, for now we are ok. The reason i dont think we should advertise yet is because we first need to have something concrete, plus we will have a better knowledge of what our view ratings are at a more constant rate.
When we reach the above state it will be easier to get in-industry advertising...ie other MMOs, server engines, games and so on... Advertising that would both be more beneficial to our visitors and a better deal for us. -------------------- Project Wish Fanatic

You are definetly right. I just didn't know, if the hosting cost is a pain (i.t.a) right now.
If it is, most of our member base will be happy to donate a small amount for it. So, as I said only for discussion and that I won't mind any ads. |
