Hello! I must say that I am impressed of you guys that are willing to make Wish again! Will the graphics be so identic to WISH as possible? Will you try to make it so identic as possible?

Is there a chance that the Beta will be 2006 or do you think it will be 2007?

Cheers, Phantasy

An answer to your first question would be from the homepage.
[blockquote]Welcome to the Project Wish website. Project Wish is an ongoing project to develop an open-sourced EMMORPG based on the spirit of the now defunct game Wish. We are in no way affiliated with Mutable Realms, nor are we trying to copy or reverse engineer their game.

This project is following the spirit of what we feel Wish would have brought to the MMORPG genre, had it been finished. That being said, everything in this project is our own creation.

Consult the FAQ to answer any questions you may have up front. After that, go to the Forum and join in some of the many discussions going on there.[/blockquote]

As for testing I don't know when that will be.

We arent exactly "remaking wish", but rather a game that treads forth on the path that Wish started out on. We would like to see alot of the gameplay elements back in our game, but the gfx are aimed to be even more stunning with a world that is hugely interactable.

Currently we're working hard on an Alpha version that encompasses the first city on our continent and part of the surrounding area. I have no idea yet when the alpha version will be mature enough for public testing, perhaps Jerky has a private ETA in mind, but I wouldnt want to put a bet on it just yet ;)

Thanks for your interest in our project and welcome to the forums :) !

I realistically do not expect us to be in Beta for some time, but I cannot give an ETA. We hope to be able to reach our Alpha milestone this year, but even that may not be until 2007. There is a lot of work that goes into this game, and it requires a hugely combined effort on the part of many people. We hope that we can allow some of the strong community memebers to participate in Alpha, but that remains to be seen.

You can browse through the "Help Wanted" section, send an application of what you want to do to apply@projectwish.com, or just stay a normal member and help with ideas and such. Whatever you so wish to do. Not all jobs are available but we're normally good at fitting people in. :D

Do what I do, come up with stuff. Talk about what you have played, what you liked about them, what you hated about them, etc.

Original ideas are especially welcome!

Hi Phantasy. Welcome to Project Wish.

I see that other people have beaten me to your questions, and have provided good answers to everything you have asked.

Just to recap though, we are not trying to remake Wish. While we are all nostalgic for Wish and we would all like to see it completed, we do not feel that it would be in our best interest to remake that game. Technology is rapidly moving forward, and we have some great ideas of our own as to what we think should be in a video game. What we are trying to do is to recreate the â??spiritâ? of Wish - the community, the fans, the player interaction - all that will be included in our game.

As to when our first beta might come out, that is going to be a while! We have started on the path towards our first alpha release, but I do not expect that to come for quite some time yet. I do not want to say anything yet as to when you might see the first glimmers of our alpha release, but I do suggest that you keep watching us, because things are constantly in motion and changing all the time.

If you are interested in helping PW, we always post our openings and you can find those on the main menu on the left hand side of your screen under the â??help wantedâ? section. Currently, we are really looking for talented artists to help us with concept art and modelers to help us to create models. We are also in need of talented programmers to help in creating our game.

If none of the openings interest you or fit your level of skill, then you are always welcome to join our community and post on the forums. We encourage all of our members to post their ideas on the forums, ask questions, and to join us in IRC. We have a lot of active members from all over the globe who hang out in our IRC channel 24 hours a day and there is always someone to talk to.

Once again, welcome to Project Wish and I hope to see you active on the forums!

-Mole
