Don't worry, as long as it's readable we'll help you out. No doubt it'll probably turn out that your better at it than us Natural English speakers/writters, it seems in many cases that someone learning a language puts more effort into it than someone who just inherantly speaks it..

*adopts childish glee*

I wanna help! I wanna help!

*screws the childish glee*

ok, I would like to help on this project, even if i end up only doing mundane functions that nobody can get by without. If I dont know how to do something, then I'll grab a book and learn how to do it, fast.

I've taken courses in Computer programming, primarily C++, but it shouldn't be too hard for me to pick up Java. also done some html, php, jscript for the web. I'm also in advanced physics and calculus classes, so i can do that stuff.

Of course, if i can't help on the programming, i'd like to assist in world history and storyline development.

I would like to help too.

Currently I know JAVA and C# as well as the rest of the .NET framework.
If I have to gain skills in another language that would be fine, as I am currently unemployed and could use something to do, as Im getting pretty bored just sitting in front of my computer doing nothing all day! :)

I also have good organizing skills when it comes to getting something done, and getting people together.

If you need my help, add me to the list. :)

Hi,

I would like to apply as a 3D-programmer for this project. My name is Bert Van Semmertier, I'm a student Computer Engineering (3rd year) at the University in Ghent, Belgium.
I'm almost fluent (can you ever fluent in a programming language?) in C/C++ and Java and as a 3D-graphics programmer hobby-ist I'm very interested in terrain-engines, weather engines, modelling of water, etc...

In my spare time I'm currently working on my second terrain engine, supporting: octree based frustum culling, geometrical mipmapping, projective texturing, cubemapped water, large terrains (up to 2048x2048 in size), texture splatting, huge viewing distance, ...

Here are some screenshots of my first terrain engine. It works but it's not optimized and has problems running on ATI-cards. It supports Geometrical mipmapping, quadtree based frustum culling, terrains up to size of 1024x1024 and has a large viewing distance.

This the engine i'm currently working on: (works a lot faster but is far from finished)

One problem though: currently i'm in the of my midterm examinations (I shouldn't even be working om my computer right now ;)) so I fear that until february 8th there is nothing I can do for the project. I think I have to warn you for this...

Friendly regards,

Bert Van Semmertier

hmm .. weird. I'm pretty sure I wrote a thread here already, but can't find my post.

Anyway, if you need another modeller/texturer/animator, then add me to the list.

for work samples (outdated site .. but what the heck)

Hey everyone

I'd like to apply as a general programmer. I've graduated Computer Sciences and am currently working as a developper for knowledge management systems. Up to now I've mainly been using high level languages such as Java and C# and not much C++, but I'm sure I can make that up in little time.

I've also got a little experience with Direct3D from a space shooter game tutorial.

Other than that, I've been playing online games for 7 years and am still a big fan :). Even I could take part in this project in any way, I'd be really happy.

As of today's meeting, the Project leader (Mole) will be selecting Team leads, who will then be selecting their teams. Contact the correct person when that is posted. I am sure there would be a spot for you and anyone else, when the time comes.
