Overview
Welcome to the project wish speed painting competition forum! Every two weeks, the project wish staff will post a subject or scene, for anyone wanting to participate, to be drawn in a speed-painting style. After these two weeks are up, the community will have one week to vote on the winner of that contest.

What is speed painting?
Speed painting is not a defined ruleset, but more a set of guidelines that users agree to follow. As it is speed painting, it is assumed that no painting will have more than 4 hours of work (generally) on it. Most speed painters hardly ever erase!

What do I submit?
Upon submitting an entry, make a reply to the topic containing the theme that applies to your image. Also, please post the time taken to complete your entry, as well as the tools used (after all, in the end this is a learning process for everyone!)

What are the specific rules?
  1. Every two weeks a new theme will be announced by a project wish staff member on this forum. Sometimes, time limits or other constraints will be applied to the given theme, so please read each topic carefully.
  2. Every entry to be submitted must be placed in the topic regarding the given theme.
  3. How you interpret a theme is up to you, and may even show your creativitiy. For example, a theme may be "Space." In this, you could paint a galaxy, show two hands representing a section of "space" or you could somehow be really unique, and paint about the "space" key on a keyboard. Unless it is specific, use your imagination! No image will be disqualified, but offtopic images will likely not be voted upon.
  4. A participant may enter a submissions to a current theme as many times as they like, as long as each painting is new and original. No entry is final until the day the contest is over and may be revised, but please remember to time how much extra time was put into an image before updating.
  5. Contestants are allowed to use ONE image per theme. If the user has submitted more than one image (which is perfectly fine), but has not selected their "submission," then one will be chosen for them and this will not be able to be changed once voting has begun.
  6. Entries that are not original will be removed and the poster will be disqualified.
  7. Every entry must include the following details with each submission: software used and any time spent working on the image. All other information is completely voluntary, but posts not containing the required information will be removed.
  8. Images on entries must be no larger than 800x600 (to ensure people can vote on images if they have slow connections). These images can be uploaded to the project wish server as an attachment to the post containing the information listed above. Do not link to external image files.
  9. While it is acceptable to use a reference image when creating speed paintings, it is against policy to draw "on top" of an image to help you paint. This is an honor-based rule, please be honorable.
  10. Do not make multiple accounts on the forum to vote for artwork.
Now be off!
Speed painting is a wonderful way to practice conceptual art. Feel free to express your art at project wish! Good luck, and let the painting begin!
