Project Wish _ Feedback & Suggestions _ New layout

Posted by: Minthos Dec 24 2005, 04:15 AM

I think the new layout takes too much space away from the forum section. Perhaps you should disable the right column when users browse the forum.

Oh, sorry, wrong section :/

The buttons (edit etc) are too fancy and graphical to my liking, a small text label would be easier to find.

I'll see if I can disable that in forum view.

Good suggestion, Minthos. I too prefer a slightly larger forum view (and less widgets in the right column). I suppose I could just make my browser window bigger, but that would use too much screen real estate!

If the right column can be disabled in the forum view, Jerky can find a way to do it. He's become a wizz at this new CMS software.

Few notes from my point of view:

* In opera panels (these thingies like main menu, private message, recent images, etc) are lacking right image in panel title.
* Panel titles should be shaded more to give rounded look, maybe brighter upper part and darker lower part. If you'd make the whole image darker, you could put a yellowish brigth bold font for title.
* Make panel background brighter, it's a bit hard to read text on it.
* I'd remove the stuff around project wish logo like date, search bar, EMMORPG comunity text, login box, etc. Since they only waste space.
* Forum text is very small. I think it should be at least 12px for verdana.

Ok, I'll work on those this week.

Ok fixed most of what you mentioned. The only problem that is still remaining is the upper right corner image in this theme(PW2) only. The problem only occurs in Opera and Firefox and I have checked the css and php files many times and re-checked them and cannot find the problem. IE looks fine. There are differences in the theme layouts, but it still makes no sense. My last hope is the e107 forums. I will keep you posted.

K, its fixed in Firefox, so I assume it is fixed in Opera as well. Let me know.

Nice addition of the Online Info section. It makes it much easier to know what's new without having to search it all.

Bravo!
