Lockheed Martin buys "serious" video game maker
LOS ANGELES, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Friday it bought 3Dsolve, a maker of "serious" video games used for training. Financial terms were not disclosed. The defense contractor said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the fast-growing training and simulation market and allow it to provide a broader array of products and services to an expanding customer base. [Note: I have a friend who made serious money by doing this. His "games" were developed to be so realistic so that they could be used to train SWAT teams and counter terrorism teams.
